August 25, 2018 – Review of: Reserva Castillero del Diablo Cabernet Sauvignon

7/10 $13.95 Reserva Castillero del Diablo Cabernet Sauvignon (Chile). Deep purple crimson colour. Smells of plum and cherry. Dry and medium bodied. Pretty acidic at first sip, but as you get over that comes a warming, with tastes of more plum and cherries. Definitely tart with a subtle bitterness at the end. I’ve had this one a few times and I must say that I’ve never been too crazy about it; I’ve been more wowed by cheaper wines. This red paired well with the dry Italian cheese I was nibbling on, but would also go well with BBQ eats.
