November 16, 2019 Review of: Yvon Mau Cabernet Sauvignon

7/10 $10.95 Yvon Mau Cabernet Sauvignon (France). Dark Ruby in colour. Cherry and blackberry aromas. Extra dry and medium bodied with medium/high acidity. Flavours of plum, berry, and dried fruit.
There was a lot less oak flavour in this bottle than I would expect from a typical cab. Overall, it was fairly smooth and drinkable but I found that it lacked a bit of depth and instead just offered up firm tannins.
This bottle was regifted to me and while it was decent in a pinch to throw on our dinner table…. I will likely not be purchasing this myself.
