January 25, 2015 – Review of: Jacobs Creek Shiraz Cabernet

8.5/10 $12.95 Jacobs Creek Shiraz Cabernet (Austrailia). Clear deep ruby in colour. Lively berry fragrance. Fruity subtle oak flavour, and ‘mildly’ dry. Smooth finish. Liquor store coined it as a “good quality wine” and I would have to agree. For the array of flavour in this red, I would have expected a longer, more dry, pucker-your-lips finish, but it’s actually very smooth and keeps you sipping more. I’m enjoying this with Veal Kebobs for dinner, but any meat, pizza, or cheesey goodness would do. Odd pairing suggestion: juicy cantaloupe. This is also a good wine to share or bring to a social event. Noteworthy that it pleased both of my parents πŸ·πŸ·πŸ‘πŸ‘
