8.25/10 $18.95 19 Crimes Shiraz Durif (Australia). Very cool bottle! The second recommendation to me by Michelle, I sought this one out at the LCBO and lucky for me, it was the very last one left! Dark purple, almost black in colour (think, vampire tears). Smells dark, like smoky berries. Acidic with an interesting finish. Tastes similar to the way it smells. Would not deem this as ‘smooth’ but I definitely enjoyed it! Something different to try for sure. I would agree with Justin’s candid remark “Well this wine is definitely more sophisticated than some of the other shit we’ve been trying.” That being said, I sometimes wonder that if someone told me this bottle was $10, would I really feel the same? Hmm. Anyways, although I enjoyed this with my steak dinner, I appreciated it more so on its own while watching a movie, and being able to appreciate the flavors. So I think it would be a great after-dinner wine. I would also feel comfortable buying this bottle as a gift for someone a little more savvy to reds
