September 5, 2018 – Review of: Fanti Rosso Di Montalcino

7/10 $19.75 Fanti Rosso Di Montalcino (Italy). Clear ruby in colour. Oaky smell. Dry and medium bodied. Initially was spicy/smoky with prominent alcohol taste, then followed cherries and blackberries. This worked with the pulled beef tenderloin tacos we had for dinner, and the consensus was that this red would best be enjoyed with food rather than alone. On the broad spectrum of ratings given by my dear friends for this wine, my 7 actually fell somewhere in the middle. Always so interesting to see how different everyone’s thoughts are of the same wine!
