May 20, 2019 Review of: Smoking Loon Old Vine Zinfandel

8/10 $15.95 Smoking Loon Old Vine Zinfandel (California). Dark purple in colour. Smells of aromatic wood and berries. Dry and full bodied with dark blackberry flavours. This vino offers some notable tannins while still managing to maintain smoothness, and ending off smoky.
I was a little nervous trying this given my experience with Old Vine Zinfandels, but I was pleasantly surprised to enjoy this bottle. Nothing too crazy here! Would pair well with spiced barbecue skewers or a rich cheddar, although I did consume on its own!
