8.5/10 $24.95 ZaHa El Corte Malbec/Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2014 (Argentina). Deep ruby in colour. Extra Dry and medium bodied, with medium tannins and good notable acidity. Flavours of soft oak π³, blackberry, dark cherry πand smoke π¨.
From the get-go this bottle packed a dense yet smooth glass, making for a unique and enjoyable experience on its own. The finish was lengthy, and I would recommend consuming with food to balance out the lingering bitterness from the tannins. (Of course, there are some winos who Iβm sure really enjoy this characteristic, but itβs my recommendation for anyone else less seasoned). A medium rare cut of meat π₯©would just be perfection ππ»with this.
Overall, I do think the β96 pointsβ as indicated on the bottle is a little generous… but this is definitely a nice blend that is sure to impress the red wine lover in your life!
