August 30, 2019 Review of: ZaHa El Corte Malbec/ Cabernet Sauvignon Blend

8.5/10 $24.95 ZaHa El Corte Malbec/Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2014 (Argentina). Deep ruby in colour. Extra Dry and medium bodied, with medium tannins and good notable acidity. Flavours of soft oak 🌳, blackberry, dark cherry πŸ’and smoke πŸ’¨.
From the get-go this bottle packed a dense yet smooth glass, making for a unique and enjoyable experience on its own. The finish was lengthy, and I would recommend consuming with food to balance out the lingering bitterness from the tannins. (Of course, there are some winos who I’m sure really enjoy this characteristic, but it’s my recommendation for anyone else less seasoned). A medium rare cut of meat πŸ₯©would just be perfection πŸ‘ŒπŸ»with this.
Overall, I do think the β€œ96 points” as indicated on the bottle is a little generous… but this is definitely a nice blend that is sure to impress the red wine lover in your life!
