November 6, 2019: Recap of Taste the Season Weekend 1

This past weekend we celebrated our dear friends birthday by participating in #TasteTheSeason, and visiting EIGHT wineries located in Niagara On The Lake🍷(so… it was more like SPEEDTaste the Season 😂).

Below are a list my fave highlights from the day:

  • Ravine Vineyard had THE MOST delicious five spice pork shoulder/sweet and sour squash served alongside their 2018 Chardonnay… seriously, their pulled pork had my mouth watering for it 🤤for the rest of the day.
  • Inniskillin sampled their 2017 Vidal Icewine which had a tropical flavour profile that was like WHOA…I could not get enough! Not to mention that it was paired perfectly with a hot beef brisket Pho🍜, which I really appreciated given the chilly day. I also thought it was a pretty unique food in general to offer (for a pairing event) and I appreciated something different from typical fare.
  • Reif Estate had a 2018 Gewurztraminer that was love at first sip and even impressed some of our red-wine-only peeps. Needless to say that I had to take a bottle home 💁🏻‍♀️.
  • The Hare Wine Co. offered us the most welcoming, warm, and intimate experience, and their 2017 Cabernet Franc was a hit all-around 🍷👍.
