8.5/10 $15.95 Kaiken Malbec (Argentina). Deep ruby in colour. Dry and medium-full bodied. Very nice, well balanced flavours of oak, berry, and cherry with a toasty and subtle chocolate finish. Overall very delicious and smooth. I really enjoyed having this on its own and although it was a gift, I would definitely purchase again myself!
March 27, 2019 Review of: Red Knot Cabernet Sauvignon
7.5/10 $19.00 Red Knot Cabernet Sauvignon (Australia). Dark red in colour. Smells of ripe cherries 🍒 . Definitely dry, maybe even extra dry, and medium/full bodied. Not entirely smooth and had a bit of bite to it. Flavours of deep cherry, oak and blackberry. A little peppery and slightly more acidic than I expect from... Continue Reading →
February 18, 2019 Review of: Chateau Saint-Germain Bordeaux Superieur
7/10 $16.45 Chateau Saint-Germain Bordeaux Superieur (France). Deep ruby in colour. Ripe aroma. Extra dry and almost bitter tasting with plenty of tannins. I noticed flavours of plum and dark cherry 🍒, although I did not find these flavours to be very long lasting. I much more enjoyed this one alongside our pot roast meal!... Continue Reading →
February 8, 2019 Review of: Domenico Fraccaroli Grotta del Ninfeo Valpolicella
8/10 $? Domenico Fraccaroli Grotta del Ninfeo Valpolicella (Italy). Purchased a bottle while out at a restaurant for dinner tonight, and was served to us lightly chilled. January 8, 2019 Review of: The Show Cabernet Sauvignon
8.25/10 $18.95 The Show Cabernet Sauvignon (California). Dark purple in colour. Smells woody and of ripe fruit. Overall, this dry red is pretty impressive with plenty of body and lots of flavour; oak and leather are at the forefront, combined with cherry, blackberry, pepper, and chocolate. The result is a warm, juicy red with a... Continue Reading →

This one has an interesting balance to it, with medium acidity. Flavours of oak are present but take a back seat to the more prominent flavours of dark berries, blackberry and cherry. November 19, 2018 Review of: Wayne Gretzky Baco Noir VQA
8/10 $15.95 Wayne Gretzky Baco Noir VQA (Ontario). Dark purple blackberry colour. Medium bodied and dry (but not overly). No where near as oaky as a Cab Sauv, and pretty dark tasting with flavours of blueberry, cherry and blackberry. Despite the dark flavours it is still smooth and very drinkable, with low tannins and manageable... Continue Reading →
November 17, 2018 Review of: Black Cellar Whisky Oak Aged Shiraz Cabernet Blend
8/10 $13.95 Black Cellar Whisky Oak Aged Shiraz Cabernet Blend No 5 (Ontario 🇨🇦). Deep ruby in colour. I could definitely smell the oak and whisky, with an almost chocolate-like sweetness that was pretty interesting. This one sat in my glass for around 15 minutes, allowing it to open up... AND allowing me time to... Continue Reading →
November 16, 2018 Review of: Silvia Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon
8.5/10 Silvia Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon (California). Very oaky and aged tasting. Fruit-forward and well rounded, with plump flavours of dark cherries and blackberry. Full bodied and warming, yet also dry and smooth with a smoky ending. Not typically what I would expect from a cab sauv... but boy, did we enjoy all TWO bottles of... Continue Reading →

7/10 $11.95 The Pavillion Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon (South Africa). Ruby in colour. Interesting smell that had me anticipating there was more to it than there actually was🤔. Dry and medium bodied. Relatively acidic and tangy, with cherry 🍒 and oak flavours. I agree with how my Dad had put it: "It has a bit of... Continue Reading →
